    ๐Ÿค Mars bar fudge

I have summarised everything that you will come to know and love (LOVE โค) about the mars bar fudge recipe in the points below:

    • Fun.
    • Easy.
    • Simple microwave method.
    • Taste and texture.
    • Needs only basic cooking skills, so perfect for all ages.

    ๐Ÿฅ— Ingredients

The photo below is to show you everything you need to make the recipe. Please refer to the printable recipe card for specific ingredient measurements as well as detailed instructions.

As you can see the recipe calls for:

    • Butter: unsalted is recommended.
    • Sweetened condensed milk.
    • Mars bars: A 12 'fun pack' of Mars Bars is perfect.
    • Chocolate: cooking chocolate not eating chocolate is recommended.

    ๐Ÿ˜‰ Variations

Here are my sub ins and outs that you might be thinking about as you read the post and I will tell you if I think they will work or why they won't:

    • Chocolate: I like to use milk chocolate for the recipe. You can however, use the equivalent amount of dark chocolate or white chocolate for something different.
    • Varieties: I have made this recipe with other candy bars and ingredients and you can too! Try the Fudge With Snickers, Mint Aero Fudge, Turkish Delight Fudge, Coconut Fudge or Malteser Fudge.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿณ How to Make mars bar fudge

To make the fudge we start by lining a square slice tin with 2 overlapping sheets of baking paper. You want to leave a little overhang on the sides so that you can lift the fudge up and out of the tin once it has set.

Step by step instructions to make mars budge fudge with text labels below.

    ๐Ÿณ Instructions

    • Line the tin with paper (Photo 1)
    • Microwave chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and butter (Photo 2)
    • Remove, stir and microwave again (Photo 3)
    • Stir till consistent (Photo 4)

Next grab a large heatproof jug. To it add the chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and butter. Place into the microwave (high heat) for 2 minutes. Then remove and stir.

    • Chop the mars bars (Photo 5)
    • Add to the wet fudge (Photo 6)
    • Stir to combine (Photo 7)
    • Into the tin (Photo 8)

When ready add the chopped mars bar pieces to the wet fudge and stir to fold them in.

Transfer the wet fudge mixture into the tin, tap gently to remove any bubbles and then place in the fridge to set.

    ๐Ÿฝ Serving Suggestions

To serve the fudge I like to take the 'big square', cut it into 4 smaller squares and then slice those into 9 pieces giving a total of 36 pieces of fudge. Or you could cut them into larger pieces, giving you 16 pieces.

The fudge is rich (and delicious) so I find that smaller pieces work well as people can always go back for more if they wish to.

    ๐Ÿ‘ How to Guide

    How to Store

Store the fridge in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge. Australia's climate is too hot to let it sit out as it begins to soften and melt. The fridge, however, keeps the fudge firm and solid.

    ๐Ÿ’ก Tasty Tips

Here are my top tips and tricks that I want to share with you so that you master the recipe from the get go:

    • Slice tin: I lightly spray the slice tin with cooking oil. This helps the 2 layers of parchment paper stick. It also means that they won't move around when you are pouring the wet fudge into the tin.
    • Love cooking with chocolate? Then you might like the Salada Christmas Crack. Tim Tam Slice or White Chocolate Crack recipes.

    Notes

    • Note 1 - Chocolate: cooking chocolate is always recommended over eating chocolate (Chocolate blocks, chocolate chips or chocolate melts will all work) . I used to shop at Aldi and they had 250 gram bags of chocolate chips. So I started using these when fudge making. They have now reduced the size of these bags to 200 grams. Plus I more often shop at Woolies. I have switched to using blocks of cooking chocolate (in place of either melts or chocolate chips) and have this changed to '400 grams or 2 blocks of chocolate'. I find minimal difference between the 400--500 grams. Also prefer to use '2 blocks' as opposed to 2 ยฝ blocks and have no immediate use for the other half a block.ย
    • Note 2 - Sweetened condensed milk: this is simply 1 can. I use a no name brand unless the more expensive brand is on special and find that it works very well.ย
    • Note 3 - Butter: unsalted is recommended. I chop this up a little before adding to the other ingredients.ย
    • Note 4 - Mars bars: I use a 12 pack of 'fun size' mini Mars bars. Then chop these into 4-6 pieces with a knife or kitchen scissors.ย
