    🤍 TOBLERONE FUDGE

When you take away the candy thermometer, stove top melting and adding extras like icing sugar and vanilla, fudge making can be super quick and easy.

Of course there is the 'setting factor' where we need to pop it in the fridge to give it enough time to firm up but that happens after all of the 'hard work' is done.

For this recipe the idea is about taking our favorite chocolate bars, like Mars Bars, Snickers, Maltesers and Mint Aero and putting them into chocolate fudge. Hence 'microwave toblerone fudge'.

It is a great recipe which allows you to create a sweet treat that can be enjoyed all year round.

    🥗 toblerone fudge Ingredients

The photo below is to show you everything you need to make the toblerone fudge recipe. Please refer to the printable recipe card for specific ingredient measurements as well as detailed instructions.

Ingredients to make toblerone fudge on marble background with text labels on top.

As you can see the recipe calls for:

    • Butter.
    • Sweetened condensed milk.
    • Toblerone chocolate: how good is this! Toblerone bars like you see above that we chop into individual pieces.
    • Chocolate: milk chocolate that is 'cooking chocolate'. This is the primary of the main ingredients needed to create the basic 'fudge'.

    😉 Variations

Here are my sub ins and outs that you might be thinking about as you read the post and I will tell you if I think they will work or why they won't:

    • Chocolate: This is a milk chocolate version of the recipe. You can use dark chocolate if you prefer or even white chocolate. The only thing is to use the equivalent amount of your preference ie the same as stated in the recipe card.
    • Toberlone: I am using milk chocolate toblerone. Equally you can use dark chocolate toblerone or white chocolate toberlone (equivalent amount as stated in recipe card).
    • Theme specific: want to try a Halloween chocolate fudge? You can see my version of it in the Microwave Chocolate Fudge recipe (photo and video).

👩‍🍳 How to Make toblerone fudge

To make the fudge we start by breaking up the chocolate blocks into pieces and adding them to a heatproof jug (or heatproof mixing bowl). I also like to line my slice tray at this point. The one used for the recipe is square and measures 24cm x 5cm, 9" x 2").

Steps to make toblerone fudge with labels underneath.
Step by step instructions 1 to 2

    🍳 Instructions

    • Add the chocolate to a bowl (Photo 1)
    • Then add the sweetened condensed milk (Photo 2)

After adding the chocolate pieces pour in the sweetened condensed milk like you see in the photos above.

Next add the butter like you see in the photos below.

Step by step instructions to make toblerone fudge with text labels at the bottom.
Step by step instructions 3 to 4
    • Add the butter (Photo 3)
    • Chop the toblerone into smaller pieces (Photo 4)

Next use a sharp knife and cutting board to chop the toblerone into pieces. You can see what this will look like in the photos above.

Wet fudge in a large mixing bowl before and after stirring.
Step by step instructions 5 to 6
    • Microwave then stir (Photo 5)
    • Repeat the microwave and stir (Photo 6)

Microwave the fudge ingredients on high for 2 minutes. Then remove and stir. Return to the microwave for 1 further minute.

Remove the fudge from the microwave and give it a thorough stir until it is consistently combined with no butter bits visible. Then add the toblerone pieces like you see in the photo below.

Toblerone pieces being added to fudge and in slice tin in 2nd image.
    • Add toblerone pieces and stir (Photo 7)
    • Transfer to slice tin (Photo 8)

After adding the toblerone pieces, stir to gently mix it in and then transfer to the square pan like you see in the photos above.

Now pop it into the fridge and let it set.

I generally leave it a couple of hours but you can test it to see when it is ready. If you push into it at a corner gently and it moves and wrinkles it needs more time to set. If you can push it and it stays firm it is good to remove and cut (2 hours set time is good if you have it).

    🍽 Serving Suggestions

When it comes to serving your fudge this is where using a square tin comes in handy.

You will need to remove the set fudge from the fridge and pull (using the parchment paper overhang) up and out of the tin. Then remove and discard the paper. From there use a knife and cutting board and slice the large square into 4 evenly size smaller squares. Then slice each of those squares into 9 small pieces.

This way you will end up with 36 evenly sliced pieces of fudge. The pieces also won't be too big. People can always go back for seconds but if it is too big a piece to start with some will find it 'too rich'.

    👍 How to Guide

    How to Store

Store the cut pieces of fudge in a sealed, airtight container in the fridge.

    💡 Tasty Tips

Here are my top tips and tricks that I want to share with you so that you master the recipe from the get go:

    • Slice tin: lining your slice tin with baking paper is the easier way to ensure that you can get the fudge out when it sets. I do 2 overlapping sheets and also use a light spray of cooking oil to 'stick' these down into the tin.
    • Cover in fridge: if leaving the fudge to set overnight, cover it with plastic wrap. This will stop any drips or condensation from dropping onto it.
    • Do you love baking with chocolate? Then you might also like the Cornflake Crack (Halloween version included), White Chocolate Crack or the Salada Christmas Crack (Halloween version included).

    🤓 toblerone fudge FAQ's

    What is Toblerone?

Toblerone is a type of Swiss chocolate known for its triangular shape and packaging.

Can I make this on the stove top using a sauce pan?

Yes you can. It will however, take longer. Using the microwave is much faster.

Do I need to freeze the toblerone chocolate bars before chopping them up?

You can if you want to. This is the best way of ensuring sold chunks of toblerone chocolate in the fudge. It is however a very dense chocolate as it is so this step is not essential to success.

    Ingredients

    • 400 grams/14 oz milk chocolate Note 1
    • 397 grams/14 oz/1 tin sweetened condensed milk Note 2
    • 50 grams/1/2 stick butter unsalted
    • 4 small toblerone chocolate bars Note 3

    Instructions

    • Slice tin: lightly grease with cooking spray then line a square tin (24cm x 5cm, 9" x 2") with 2 overlapping sheets of baking paper leaving a 1-2cm overhang on all 4 sides.
    • Chocolate fudge: add the chocolate pieces, sweetened condensed milk and butter to a heatproof jug. Microwave on high for 2 minutes then remove and stir vigorously for about 20 seconds. Return the jug to the microwave for 1 further minute (high heat). Then remove and vigorously stir for another 20 seconds.
    • Combine: add the chopped toblerone pieces to the combined fudge. Stir gently to combine.
    • Transfer: pour the fudge with combined toblerone pieces into the prepared slice tin. Pick it up and then gently tap the tin down again to the bench about 3 times (this removes the bubbles).
    • Set: place the fudge into the fridge to set for a minimum of 2 hours up to overnight.
    • To serve: remove the set fudge from the fridge. Grab the parchment paper and lift the fudge up and out of the tin. Discard the paper. Take a sharp knife and slice the large square into 4 smaller squares. Then slice each of those squares into 9 smaller pieces. Store the fudge in a sealed, air tight container until ready to serve.

    Notes

    • Note 1 - Chocolate: cooking chocolate is recommended over eating chocolate. You will see that I use 2 x 200 gram (2 x 7 oz) blocks of milk chocolate. Equally you can use 400 grams  (14 oz) of either chocolate chips, chocolate melts or the equivalent of either dark chocolate or milk chocolate.
    • Note 2 - Sweetened condensed milk: this is simply 1 tin. As it is so thick and sticky you will need to scrape it out of the tin towards the end with a spoon or small spatula.
    • Note 3 - Toblerone chocolate bars: I use 4 x 50 grams Toblerone chocolate bars (total = 200 grams or 7oz). These are a good size to cut into individual pieces without having to then cut those pieces again.
