🥗 Ingredients
The photo below is to show you everything you need to make the recipe. Please refer to the printable recipe card for specific ingredient measurements as well as detailed instructions.
- Frozen samosa: you will find many brands and varieties of these across the major supermarkets. The main differences will be quality and quantity.
- Coriander chutney: this is the green chutney you see in the photo above. It is bold and spicy.
- Mango chutney: this is the red chutney shown in the photo above. It is sweet and mild.
Tasty Tip 1: Read the box of samosas before you purchase them to see if they come with or without chutney. If they don't come with the sauce, head to the Indian section of the supermarket and grab some from there.
🍳 How to Make Frozen Samosa in the Air Fryer
Here are the step by step instructions to make the recipe.
- Place frozen samosa into Air Fryer basket (Photo 1)
- Cook the samosa for 15-20 mins (Photo 2)
Tasty Tip 2: The 1st time you use your air fryer to cook frozen samosa, follow the instructions here and test one of the samosa to ensure they are fully cooked not still frozen in the centre. Note that time down for the next time you cook them.

😉 Substitutions and Variations
Samosas are described as a traditional type of Indian Pastry that combines potatoes, peas, herbs and spices.
You will find a variety of brands with different heat options.
Some versions will come with chutney (should say on the box) and some without. If needed, you can purchase chutney for dipping in the Indian foods aisle of the supermarket.
👍 How to Guide
How to store
You can store air fried samosa in a seal air tight container in the fridge for 1 to 2 days.
How to reheat
To reheat the cooked samosa air fryer them for 5 -10 mins, until the coating is crispy and the filling cooked through.
How to freeze
For this recipe, I recommend using store bought frozen samosa. It is not recommended to refreeze any food that has been frozen already.
For convenience, keep these in the freeze until ready to cook!

📖 Recipe
Air Fryer Frozen Samosa (Frozen Samosa in Air Fryer)
Equipment
- Air Fryer
- Kitchen Tongs
- Paper towel to rest the cook samosa prior to serving
- Small Bowls for the chutney
Ingredients
- 8 frozen samosa Note 1
- coriander chutney to serve
- mango chutney to serve
- olive oil Note 2
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer at a temperature of 180°C/350 F for 2-3 mins (optional).
- Remove frozen samosa from freezer, discard packaging and place into the air fryer basket or tray.
- Cook the samosa at the same temperature used to pre heat the appliance for 15 minutes.
- Use kitchen tongs to remove cooked samosa and rest on paper towel.
- Serve immediately with chutney.
Notes
- Note 1 I recommend using store bought frozen samosa. There is a wide variety and range readily available these days at your local grocery store. Get to know the brands and then choose your favourite.
- Note 2 I don't find it necessary to recoat frozen samosa in olive oil or spray them with additional oil as I think it is possibly to get very crispy results without doing this. If you want to, however, you can use a light spray of olive oil on the base of the Air Fryer basket and on the samosa themselves.
- Refer to specific packet for ingredients and nutritional information for both samosa and chutney. These will vary across different brands.
