📖 Recipe
Slow Cooker Fudge
Equipment
- Slow Cooker (mine is 5.5l)
- Spatula (plastic as it doesn't scrap the bowl)
- Slice tin (My slice tray measures (28 x 17.5 x 5 cm)
- Baking paper
- Knife (to cut fudge once set)
Ingredients
Slow Cooker Fudge
- 500 grams chocolate melts Note 1
- 397 grams sweetened condensed milk Note 2
- 50 grams butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract Note 3
- sprinkles to decorate
Instructions
Slow Cooker Fudge
- Turn your Slow Cooker onto a low heat
- Add chocolate melts, butter, sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract to Slow Cooker Bowl, leave uncovered
- Stir approximately every 15 mins to combine across a 1 hr period
- Pour melted chocolate fudge mix into a lined slice tray and decorate with sprinkles Note *
- Refrigerate for 2 hrs until set
- Remove from fridge, lift sides of baking paper to remove from slice tray, use a chopping board and knife to cut into 2 cm squared pieces
Notes
- Note 1 You can use dark, milk or white chocolate melts. I am using dark chocolate for this recipe. If using dark chocolate definitely add the vanilla essence as it is a much more bitter chocolate than milk or white. If using milk or white chocolate, you can skip the vanilla essence is you like and have easy 3 ingredient fudge!!
- Note 2 I admit that this is a very unusual amount ie 397grams, however, you can rest assured that this is simply the exact amount of a standard tin of sweetened condensed milk!
- Note 3 Vanilla extract is MUCH cheaper than vanilla essence. I use vanilla extract more often than note as I like to be mindful of grocery bills and I don't think the difference in the two is even tasted, so use whichever you prefer.
- Note 4 My slice tray measures (28 x 17.5 x 5 cm). A smaller surface area slice tray will result in thicker (higher) pieces of fudge and a larger surface area will result in thinner (shorter) pieces of fudge.
- Note 5 The nutrition calculation is for 1 piece of fudge, it is VERY hard to stop at eating one piece! Sorry, well not really, it tastes SO good!!!

Slow Cooker recipes
This recipe and the options here are sweet treats which I know you will love.
It is so FUN to use your slow cooker to make fudge, not to mention SUPER easy.
I find the hardest thing is that it is a recipe where I could do with 3 (or 4) hands. The most challenging part is lifting the slow cooker bowl above the slice tray to get the melted fudge mix into your slice tray. It is a doozey!
For the chocolate and caramel fudge you won't need spray oil, but do use a little on the crockpot base for the redskin fudge as it is much stickier and this helps.
If there is a little leftover fudge mix in the slow cooker bowl as you couldn't quite tip it all in then leave it. If you try and scrap it into the slice tray you will get a less flat top as the fudge in the tray will have already started to set.
Have fun with this recipe and suggestions as it is VERY COOL to make fudge in the slow cooker and you have to try it!
As always give me a shout if you have any questions and I would love to know what you think in the comments below.
