Classic Christmas Cocktails are the best as they allow us to relax and celebrate the festive season! Throw some appetizers into the mix, a few of these and you will be feeling merry for sure.

What is the best drink for Christmas?

Christmas is a time of plenty and that includes drinks! You might like to try egg nog, Christmas Punch, a scotch or 2 and a mulled one.

You can't really go wrong in choosing a holiday drink to please a crowd. If i doubt, stick to the old faithful like Hot Buttered Rum or a Gingerbread Hot Chocolate.

    What are holiday drinks?

Part of the fun is decorating our drinks and planning mixers. For an easy Christmas Cocktail, start with proscecco and combine it with ginger beer and fresh lime juice. You can't go wrong with this combo!

Christmas will be here before we know it! So let's so a little prep work and plan accordingly.

Mixers are great as you can get them in advance. Ginger beer brings flavour and a bit of fizz. Lime juice can be zesty especially if you use freshly squeezed limes!

    Ingredients

    Christmas Cocktail

    • 1 750ml Pink Prosecco
    • 1 750ml Ginger Beer
    • 1 250ml Lime juice
    • fresh rosemary sprigs
    • fresh cherries
    • ice cubes

    Instructions

    Christmas Cocktail

    • Start by adding your rosemary springs and ice to all of your glasses
    • Then add your lime juice (1 tbs/20ml per glass) , repeat for each glassย Note 1
    • Then pour your prosecco into each class leaving about ยผ of the glass at the top empty, repeat for all glassesย Note 2
    • Add your ginger beer and fill almost to the top Note 3
    • Garnish with fresh cherriesย Note 4

    Notes

    • Note 1 A tablespoon in Australia is just a bit bigger than in America...so for my USA friends add a bit more than a tablespoon (approx 20ml) An Australia ยฝ tablespoon is 10ml.
    • Note 2 you can get prosecco in a yellow colour too, but I tried in for this recipe and I didn't like it as much as the pink one.ย ย
    • Note 3 You can choose to make a stronger alcohol based drink by skipping the ginger beer. This also looks very pretty for if you start with the lime juice, you will get 2 separate layers when pouring the prosecco on top.
    • Note 4 Consider using fresh cranberries in place of the cherries!ย
