- 40 grams/3 tbs butter unsalted
- ⅓ cup/80ml honey
- ¼ cup/60ml djion mustard
- 8 pork sausages
Melt butter: place a large frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to high. Add the butter and let it melt.
Honey and mustard: add the honey and mustard to the melted butter and stir to combine. Then let this cook for 2-3 minutes. This allows the mustard to melt and the 2 ingredients to consistently combine.
Sausages: once the sauce is combined use kitchen tongs to transfer the raw sausages into the pan. Cook them for 15 to 20 minutes, using the tongs to rotate them as they cook. We want the sides to be crispy and browned.
To serve: once the sausages are cooked, transfer them to dinner plates and pop some crispy onion rings and a side salad on the plate (optional).
- Note 1 - Butter: I recommend unsalted butter. A soft creamy one like a French butter is perfect. We use this as the starting point in making the honey mustard sauce.
- Note 2 - Mustard: dijon mustard is great as it is also not too in your face or 'hot'. That being said there is a wide variety of options here and I am not going to stop you from using your favorite mustard.
- Note 3 - Honey: you can use maple syrup to the equivalent amount if you wish to.
- Note 4 - Sausages: pork sausages are what I usually use to make the recipe and the ones shown in the photos throughout the post. I choose plain, reasonably thick sausages with no additional flavors or herbs.
- Serving suggestions: you don't have to serve your sausages in the exact same way I am in the photos. If however, you do want to the salad is the Cherry Tomato Caprese Salad. I use spinach leaves in place of the basil leaves. The Air Fryer Onion Rings are a great pairing also. They offer a crispy, crunchy texture which nicely compliments the sweet sticky sausages.
- Portion size: this will depend on how many sausages you want to serve per persoon. 2 is general a good amount to aim for or increasing that for hungry eaters.
