- 500 grams/16 oz pork mince (ground pork)
- ⅓ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 teaspoon dried chives
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon fennel seeds
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg free range
Preheat your oven to 180°C / 350-375°F / Gas Mark 4-5.
Meatballs: add the pork mince, panko breadcrumbs, dried chives, garlic powder, onion powder, fennel seeds, paprika, salt, pepper and egg to a medium bowl. Use clean hands to combine. Then take a mini cookie scoop and portion out a small amount of the mixture onto a chopping board. Next, repeat to portion the rest of the mixture. Once done roll the portions into meatballs using the palms of your hands then place onto a chopping board. Repeat this process till all of the mixture is used up.
Meatballs onto tray: line a rimmed baking tray with aluminium foil and give it a spray with cooking oil. Then place the raw meatballs onto the tray in one flat layer.
Cook meatballs: place the meatballs into the oven with the tray sitting on the middle shelf. Allow the meatballs to bake for 18 minutes and then use oven mits to remove the tray and place it onto a heatproof surface.
Paper towel: use kitchen tongs to transfer the meatballs into a paper towel lined bowl to absorb and excess moisture.
Serve: then transfer the cooked meatballs to a serving plate and pop a small bowl of your favorite sauce on there for dipping dunking and dolloping!
- Serving size: for an appetizer or starter 2 meatballs work per person. Up to 4-5 for a sub roll and the same for pasta.
