Equipment

  • Chopping board
  • Knife

Ingredients

  • 400 grams medley tomatoes cute in half, Note 1
  • 100 grams cherry tomatoes cut in half, see Note 1
  • 100 grams orange grape tomatoes cut in half, see Note 1
  • ½ bunch basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon capers drained, not rinsed
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Use a knife and chopping board to slice the tomatoes in halves
  • Pull basil leaves from stems and discard (stems)
  • Mix your tomatoes together to get an even spread of colour, season with salt, pepper and olive oil
  • Add burrata, basil and capers to the salad
  • Drizzle with red wine vinegar to serve

Notes

  • Note 1 The goal here is for this salad to have a colourful assortment of tomatoes. If you can't get the exact type that is listed in the recipe, that is fine. Gather an assortment of colours, shapes and sizes to the equivalent amount.
  • Note 2 Burrata can be hard to find at the local grocery store! If you hunt for it and cannot find it, use mozzarella or bocconcini instead.
