Equipment

  • 1 Mixing bowl
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Crepe pan or fry pan
  • 1 ¾ Measuring cup optional, to portion the pancakes
  • 1 Silicon flat utensil
  • 1 Serving plate
  • 1 Butter Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 cups self-raising flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 eggs free range
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Pancake toppings

  • 10 drops Green food colouring
  • Nutella (Chocolate hazelnut spread)
  • Candy eyes
  • Halloween or galaxy sprinkles

Instructions

  • Make the batter: add the self-raising flour, milk, egg and salt to a medium sizing mixing bowl. Use a wooden spoon to stir till consistently combined.
  • Add the food colour: add the food colour to the pancake batter, then stir to combine. Add more drops to your colour depth preference. Stir to combine.
  • Cook the pancakes: turn the stove onto a medium heat, use cooking spray to coat a crepe pan with oil, then use a measuring cup to portion the pancake batter onto the pan. Once bubbles form in the centre of the pancakes (2-3 mins), slide a silicon turner under the cooked side and flip to the other side. Cook this side for 1 - 2 mins. Repeat to use up all batter and until all pancakes are cooked.
  • Stack the pancakes: once the pancakes are cooked, use the silicon turned and transfer them to a serving plate. You can either make a big stack and top that one with the Nutella, candy eyes and sprinkles or individually plate them and decorate each one accordingly.
  • Serve and enjoy: provide additional plates, forks and pancake toppings on the table. Portion the stack onto the plates and enjoy!
