Equipment

  • Slow Cooker
  • Slice tin
  • Spatula
  • Baking paper
  • Chopping board
  • Knife

Ingredients

Slow Cooker Christmas Fudge

  • 250 grams milk chocolate bits Note 1
  • 250 grams dark chocolate bits See Note 1
  • 397 grams sweetened condensed milk Note 2
  • 50 grams butter
  • 2 tablespoon Christmas sprinkles Note 3
  • 2 tablespoon sprinkles Note 4

Instructions

  • Slow Cooker Christmas Fudge
  • Line a slice tin with parchment paper and set aside Note 5
  • Add the chocolate, sweetened condensed milk and butter to the Slow Cooker Bowl.
  • Set the temperature to low and keep the lid off.
  • When the chocolate starts to melt, use a non stick spatula to stir the fudge every 10 - 15 mins.
  • When the chocolate is fully melted and stirred consistently with the other ingredients, turn the heat off and use oven mits to remove the slow cooker bowl (place on a heat proof surface).
  • Work quickly at this point and hold the bowl above the slice tin and use the spatula to transfer the wet fudge into the slice tray.
  • Use the spatula to smooth out the surface of the fudge. Or gently tap on to flatten (lift the slice tin and tap on the bench)
  • Decorate the fudge with novelty edible Christmas Sprinkles and place in the fridge to set.
  • After 2 hours remove from the fudge and use a chopping board and knife to cut into pieces. Note 6

Notes

  • Note 1 You can use Chocolate bits, chocolate melt, or a block of chocolate broken into pieces.
  • Note 2 This is a standard tin of sweetened condensed milk. We use 1 whole tin.
  • Note 3 Don't worry if you can't find the exact Christmas Sprinkles I use. Go for festive, fun and December as the theme!
  • Note 4 Simple red and green sprinkles will do the trick if you can't find Christmas Sprinkles. We want traditional colours and the festive theme!
  • Note 5 Another great thing about this recipe is that it works in a  variety of sizes of slice tins. So don't run out and buy one if it is not exactly the same dimensions as mine. You can use a rectangle slice tin, a square brownie tin or simple small cake tin. The only thing to keep in mind is that the bigger the tin, the thinner your fudge will be and the smaller your slice tin, the thicker the fudge will be (less surface area).
  • Note6 It is fine to leave the fudge in the fridge for longer than 2 hours (I usually leave it over night), however, 2 hrs is the minimum I recommend you wait before slicing it (if you are literally dying to try it, which I hope you will be!!)
